ABOUT

Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company was started in 1998 by German-American brewer, Sam Hoffmann. Montana grown barley, Northwest hops, old world recipes, and of course, the pristine waters of Red Lodge are sophistically combined to create this fine craft beer. You can find Red Lodge Ales throughout Montana, Wyoming and the Yellowstone region.

HISTORY

Brewing beer in Red Lodge dates back to 1910 when Fred Lehrkind began the Red Lodge Brewery. His beer was the drink of choice for the hard working, hard drinking coal miners who populated the region. During prohibition, the brewing company was shut down and whiskey was much easier to produce under the light of the moon. The brewery became a pea canning factory instead, until Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company brought back the tradition of great beer in Red Lodge.
